The Artists Learning Journey

Posted by Cameron Russell on

I believe art is a constant journey, evolving from the experiences you immerse yourself in. This might be people you meet, places you visit, or new learning experiences. I don't think your art can evolve and improve unless you are prepared to explore and develop new styles, techniques and media. I am fortunate to be able to live in a culturally diverse country. Singapore is rich in a variety of beautiful places, wildlife, plant life, culture, history and traditions. With all of this brings new inspiration for exploring not only subject matter, but also exploring new techniques. It has also provided me the opportunity to participate in a number of workshops and courses. I am also fortunate to be able...

Pet Portrait Commissions

Posted by Glenn Russell on

I have always loved sketching and drawing animals, both pets and wild animals and birds. There is so much beauty in animals and capturing their expressions and their characters in art for their owners is very rewarding. As an artist I feel workshops and courses are a vital aspect in developing and improving my skills. Recently I completed a Diploma in Pet Portraits with London Art College. I am very happy to say that I was awarded a distinction for my work during the course. That was such a great achievement for an area of my art that I felt I wasn't very good at! We are always our harshest critics. Red Brush Art is pleased to be able to offer...

Vanilla Beige Interview

Posted by Cameron Russell on

It's always amazing to see our Red Brush Art story in print. We are so happy to have been featured in an article by Angela Manners from Vanilla Beige. Vanilla Beige is an online publication that serves as a platform for curated and original content. They are all about life explored. It could be coffee, food, a personal journey or any obsession big or small. That is why they hand-pick and bring together writers and stories that they love and care about. Their goal is to add depth and texture to up-and-coming brands, unique concepts and the people behind them. They look for a deeper connection, that additional information, an education and a more loyal readership, so we are truly honoured to have...

Posted by Glenn Russell on

Glenn has a little love affair with the Oriental Pied Hornbill. And why not.  They have an amazing story here in Singapore. We are both very aware of the need to protect our environment and the wildlife that exists in the these environments.  Maybe that's why Glenn has spent some time creating beautiful Hornbill artwork in a range of media, that could proudly hang on any wall, in any home, apartment, office or hotel lobby or room.   Hornbills | Watercolour   The Oriental Pied Hornbill (Anthracoceros albirostris) is a native bird of Singapore, and common to other areas of South East Asia.  This hornbill is a fascinating bird that is distinguished by its large down-curved yellow beak and unique hollow structure (casque)...
